This Privacy Policy explains how Ruslan Safargaleev (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Onestly mobile application (the “App”) and this website. Onestly is an AI-assisted dating decision helper. It is not a dating, matchmaking, or messaging service.
1. Who we are & scope
The App is published by Ruslan Safargaleev, an independent developer. This policy applies to the App and this website. It does not cover third-party services (for example, the dating apps whose screenshots you choose to upload), which have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Content you provide
- Images: screenshots of dating profiles and of message conversations that you choose to upload.
- Text: stories about dates, notes about the people you are evaluating (“candidates”), and the preferences you set during onboarding (your dating goals, values, dealbreakers, and situation). This includes any free-text or voice-transcribed note you type in the “in your own words” onboarding step; that text is stored locally on your device (and synced to your private iCloud) to personalize your analyses.
- Voice: optional voice recordings (“voice reflections”) you record for analysis.
- Candidate details: a nickname, the dating app you met on, a status, and any notes you add.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data: app events, interactions, app version, device type, and OS version, collected through analytics tools.
- Attribution data: how you found or installed the App, via our attribution provider.
- Purchase data: your subscription status and transaction identifiers, via our subscription provider and Apple. We never receive your full payment-card details — payments are handled by Apple.
We do not require an account. You do not create a username or password to use the App.
3. How we use your information
- To generate your analyses (scores, flags, suggestions) from the content you submit.
- To sync your data across your devices through your private iCloud account.
- To process and validate subscriptions.
- To measure and improve the App (analytics and attribution).
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not use your content to train our own models, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. AI processing & third parties
To produce an analysis, the content you submit is sent — through our backend, which acts as a secure relay — to OpenAI, which provides the AI models that analyze images and text. Voice recordings are sent to a speech-to-text provider (OpenAI, gpt-4o-transcribe) that converts them to a transcript; the transcript is then analyzed as text. These providers process your content only to return a result to you. Where the option is available, we use these providers through their API so that content is not used to train their models.
5. Content about other people
The App lets you upload screenshots and write notes that may contain information about other people (for example, someone you matched with). When you do this, you are responsible for that content. You should only upload information you have the right to share, and you must not upload content that is unlawful or obtained without permission. We process this content only to provide your analysis and according to the storage and retention rules below. 6. Where your data is stored
- On your device: your candidates, analyses, preferences, and media are stored locally on your iPhone.
- In your iCloud: your data is synced to your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit), tied to your Apple ID, so it stays available across your devices. This data sits in Apple’s infrastructure and is governed by Apple’s privacy terms.
- On our backend: photos and screenshots you upload are stored on our backend (Google Firebase Cloud Storage) for up to 30 days to enable processing, and are then automatically deleted. Voice recordings and text are not stored on our backend — they are relayed for processing and then discarded.
7. Sub-processors
We use the following providers to operate the App. Each processes data only as needed for its function.

8. Data retention
- On your device and in your iCloud: kept until you delete it (see section 10). Deleting in the App removes the local and iCloud copies.
- Uploaded photos on our backend: automatically deleted within 30 days.
- Voice and text on our backend: not retained (processed and discarded).
- Analytics and attribution data: retained by those providers according to their own policies.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or export it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), these rights apply to you. We do not sell or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To exercise any right, email app@onestly.ai. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
10. How to delete your data
You can delete all of your data at any time in the App: go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete all data. This erases your candidates, analyses, preferences, notes, and media from your device and your iCloud. Photos previously uploaded for processing are deleted from our backend within 30 days. To request deletion of analytics or attribution data, or for help, email app@onestly.ai. Your subscription record held by Apple is managed through your Apple ID and is not deleted by this action.
11. Children
The App is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact app@onestly.ai and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. International data transfers
We and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the App from outside these countries, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
